David Younggren, Managing Partner of Dunphy Best Blocksom LLP, specializes in civil litigation. David joined the firm in 1988 after articling to Chief Justice Laycraft at the Alberta Court of Appeal. He became a partner in 1993 and has an established civil litigation practice including corporate contractual litigation, shareholder disputes, wrongful dismissal, real estate litigation, builders' liens and collection matters. David has appeared in all levels of Court including a successful appearance on a criminal appeal (R. v. Egger) in the Supreme Court of Canada and appearances as Ad Hoc Discipline Counsel for the Law Society of Alberta.

At the University of Calgary, David received his law degree in 1987, a Diploma in Education in 1977 and a B.Sc. in 1976.

David is currently a member of the Calgary Police Commission and is the Past Chair of the Legal Aid Society of Alberta. He has been an active member, speaker and organizer for the Canadian Bar Association. He is also a Past Director of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Calgary.
