Jack is a retired partner and founding member of Dunphy Best Blocksom LLP. Jack's practice focused on business law. Throughout his extensive career, Jack represented clients in a wide variety of business contexts including corporate, commercial, banking, financial, leasing, mortgages, real estate, wills and estate planning and administration.

Jack has been a frequent panelist and lecturer for the Legal Education Society Bar Admission Course and University of Calgary Continuing Legal Education Programs. He is a past member of the board of directors of the Canadian Bar Insurance Association. He is on the Canadian Bar Association Council, Alberta Branch.

He is past-president and executive member of the Canadian Bar Association (Alberta Branch) and the Real Property Section of the Canadian Bar Association's Alberta Branch. Jack is a past member of the Law Society Registries Liaison Committee and Past Chairman of the Western Law Societies Torrens Committee.

Jack has been a long time, active volunteer on the boards of community, sports and charitable associations and the University of Calgary Senate. A keen outdoorsman, skier, hunter, fisherman and climber, he acted as Alpine Chairman for Team Panorama Ski Club and as a director of the Canadian Ski Patrol.
