Wendy Best is a partner with Dunphy Best Blocksom LLP. Wendy has a well-established family law practice and has earned ongoing recognition as a leading family law practitioner since joining the firm in 1982. She became a partner in 1986 and was appointed as Queen's Counsel in 1994.

Wendy received her law degree from the University of Calgary in 1979 and a B.Comm. in 1975. She is a sought after educator as speaker, panellist and lecturer for organizations such as the National Judicial Institute, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Queen's Bench Judges Education Program, Federation of Law Societies, Calgary Bar Association, Canadian Bar Association, Jewish Family Services, Alberta Trial Lawyers Association and the Legal Education Society of Alberta.

Wendy is on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Canadian Research Institute for Law and the Family. She is a member of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Wendy served as a member of the Alberta Securities Commission for 6 years and the Law Society of Alberta's Family Law Advisory Committee for 5 years. Wendy served on the Board of the University of Calgary's Student Legal Assistance for 11 years. She was a member of the Canadian Bar Association's National Council and several of its committees.

Wendy is a member of the Board of Directors of the Heritage Park Society. She has also served as a board member of the Calgary Auxiliary Hospital District No.7; Carewest Foundation, Team Panorama Nancy Green Ski Team and the Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter.

Peter C. Newman cited Wendy as a "Titan" in The Canadian Establishment, Volume 3 - The Titans. Further recognition of her professional accomplishments includes Wendy being noted as a Leading Practitioner in Litigation - Family Law in all editions of the Canadian Legal LEXPERT Directory (1997-2008) and being selected to be included in all editions of "The Best Lawyers in Canada".
